ABS Minel Contact Systems (ABS Minel Kontaktne mrež) was formed in order to carry out the program for railways electrification in the former Republic of Yugoslavia. The enterprise built most of the electrical drive systems for Belgrade’s municipal transportation from 1981 to 1986.
The ABS Minel Overhead Wiring Company was formed in a suburb of Belgrade in 1964. The enterprise undertakes design and construction of facilities and installations for transportation and the power industry, builds backbone power transmission lines, carries out assembly and commissioning works at electric power plants, installs cable lines, and delivers a service package for the construction and maintenance of lighting equipment, aerials and other installations.
The enterprise offers customers a wide range of building and assembly works:
- building, refurbishment and maintenance of electrical drive systems installations at voltage levels;
- assembly and refurbishment of distribution installations and transformer substations at all voltage levels;
- assembly of functional and decorative lighting systems, and the alarm systems on transport, industrial, public sports and commercial facilities.
Additionally, the company carries out construction and refurbishment of switchboards and distribution transformer substations up to 400 kV. The company undertakes the assembly and replacement of electrical equipment at all voltage levels, the manufacture, laying and linking of the primary with the secondary connections of transformer substations and switchboards, the assembly of cells with a power supply from 10 kV up to 35 kV, and the assembly of supporting constructions of transformer substations and switchboards.
The company deals with protection and alarm systems, as well as the supply of transformer substations and switchboards with all essential components such as the internal and external lighting of transformer substations, the manufacture of earthing provisions, and lightning protectors. Apart from wiring works, the company carries out all required civil engineering works.
