Mikhail Ignatiev, the President of Chuvash Republic visited ABS Electro enterprises

    On the 8th of October Mikhail Ignatiev, the president of Chuvash Republic together with Ivan Motorin, vice-chairman of the Cabinet council – minister of Chuvash Republic economic, industry and trade development, Nikilay Emelianov, the mayor of Cheboksary city, visited <The All-Russian Research and Design Institute of Relay Manufacture> (VNIIR) and OJSC “ABS ZEiM Automation”.

    President’s visit to Cheboksary enterprises continued the series of his meetings with employees of the biggest industrial enterprises of the republic. The acquaintance with the company started with the visit to VNIIR, which is recognized as the engineer elite of Chuvash Republic. For already 50 years the institute designs and brings into reality scientific ideas of relay protection, the most intelligent branch of power industry. The institute possesses more than 1500 patents and inventions. 80% of domestic electromechanical and statistical relay protection and automatic equipment is produced by VNIIR.

    Vladimir Dubinin, Managing Director of VNIIR, presented to the guests the modern production and the main directions of company activity. During the excursion the delegation visited the assembly shop of relay protection cabinets and demo-zones with production examples. There was also demonstrated the production of VNIIR associated company – VNIIR-Progress – one of the leading national developers of electrical equipment for Russian Ministry of Defense, the leading national producers of low-voltage switchgears and protection equipment.

    Then to the head of Chuvash Republic was demonstrated the first Russian center of power system modeling created in VNIIR in the beginning of 2010. Its services are concentrated on task solutions for Russian grid companies – “FSK EES”, “MRSK Holding”, “SO UES”. Researches performed in the center allow making calculations, provide data analysis and formation of recommendations intended to reduce the energy losses and to decline the accident risks on power facilities.

    Goda Nudelman, chairman of board of directors, told about main landmarks in development of the institute. He reminded that next year VNIIR would celebrate its 50th anniversary and mentioned that VNIIR had initiated the international conference on relay protection and automation in Russia in 2011.

    At the end of the excursion there was shown a presentation about ABS Electro business development. Vladimir Dubinin particularly noted that the competitiveness of ABS Electro production is not inferior to the world’s leading manufacturers and meets the task of imported products substitution set by the Russian Government.

    Specialists of the institute presented to the president a number of suggestions how to collaborate practically within the bounds of the republic, particularly the participation of the institute in the Chuvash republic energy industry development program 2011-2015.

    Mikhail Ignatiev underlined that he was very impressed by VNIIR innovative technologies and products, highly demanded in the domestic and foreign markets. Thanks to them Chuvash Republic has become a well-known center of electrical engineering, told he.

    After that the president visited the workshops of ABS ZEiM Automation, the first Russian enterprise specializing in actuators production, one of the leaders in production of automation equipment. The deputy general manager of The Russian Corporation of Nanotechnologies Andrey Svinarenko also participated in this excursion. Yury Susko, Managing director of ABS ZEiM Automation showed the plant’s facilities, the museum and the factory canteen, which is really the best in the city. The plant head told that the products manufactured there are operated widely in Russia, in CIS countries, India, China and Iran for already 50 years, mostly in power industry, oil and gas industry, mining industry, housing maintenance and utilities and other industries. The enterprise continues development of new products, purchasing of modern machines and personnel hiring. The company started successfully a new line of its activity – the production of wireways.

    President’s visit finished with interview of company’s employees. Fnally Mikhail Ignatiev summarized that ABS Electro enterprises are really the best in the republic from the point of its job organization, facilities and production quality.
