ABS Electro is committed to the principles of social responsibility, and to being involved in the development of social, environmental and partnership programs in the regions where its enterprises operate.
Today ABS Electro provides jobs, a competitive salary, a guaranteed comprehensive benefits package, an active corporate life, and active participation in events at the city and republic level for its employees.
The priority given to human resources is crucial for achieving the company’s key success. Emphasis is put on creating jobs which meet market demands and promote ABS Electro’ attractive image as an employer. With this goal in mind, the process of training future personnel starts straight from university years. Part of this strategy is to provide the opportunity for the children of the company personnel to be educated at the country’s leading educational institutions. ABS Electro has signed partnership agreements with Moscow State University, Chuvash State University, and other educational institutions.
In addition to target training of personnel, there are other areas of partnership including:
- student internships at the holding company’s enterprises;
- providing assistance with term papers and graduation theses;
- inviting students to participate in conferences;
- providing the opportunity for an overseas internship at the holding company’s enterprises or at the enterprises of its partners.
ABS ZEiM Automation served as the base for the establishment of the Department of Management and Information Technologies in Technical Systems, where monthly classes are held for the students. By participating in annual meetings with university graduates and in job fairs, ABS Electro upholds its image as an attractive employer. Interesting work which provides the opportunity to fulfill employees’ potential by transforming their ideas into an actual project or product is the key to the company personnel’s success.
The company’s enterprises implement the following projects:
- adaptation of newly hired employees to the working environment;
- continuous training of personnel (referral to refresher courses, second university education reimbursement, holding employee training sessions, conducting in-house seminars (for example, teaching a course in increasing awareness of the production manufactured by the holding company’s enterprises, running the Inventor’s School);
- organizing overseas internships for employees;
- motivating employees to participate in conferences;
- employee nomination for participation in different competitions, such as the competition for winning the national youth prize, the Best Engineer of the Year, the Best Mentor;
- providing opportunities for career growth;
- bonus payments for the best employees working at different departments of the holding company’s enterprises (for example, Employee of the Month).
The availability of fringe benefits which are accessible to the personnel of ABS Electro enterprises is one of the company’s trademarks. They include:
- free hot meals provided for workers and engineers engaged in production;
- repairs of recreation rooms and the canteen;
- voluntary medical insurance for employees who have worked in the company for over a year;
- sending employees’ children annually to a summer camp;
- holding the competition “Building the Future Together,” with the winners receiving a bank loan for buying housing.
Recognition of the employees’ merits and achievements together with support of employees is viewed by the company’s HR Department as its top priority.
It’s become a tradition for the company to provide the following activities:
- congratulations (quarterly) of retired employees by making tea parties or congratulations on the occasion of their jubilee;
- holding festive events during Victory Day celebrations with monetary payments made to former employees to honor them as war veterans or workers on the home front.
- annual congratulations of pensioners working at the holding company’s enterprises by making monetary payments and holding festive events on the occasion of the Day of Elderly People.
ABS Electro places emphasis on developing satisfactory relationships among employees at work, bringing employees together, developing a sense of belonging to a single team, and working towards achieving common objectives. The following social events, which are held annually, make a significant contribution to this goal:
- New Year’s celebrations, celebrations held on February 23, March 8, and May 9;
- traditional corporate festive occasions and sports activities (the holding company’s birthday celebration, ABS Electro summer Olympics, ABS Electro children’s Olympics, ABS Electro championships in volleyball, table tennis, football, weightlifting, and other events).
ABS Electro takes an active part in the city’s and Republic’s activities. The company has assisted at organizing significant events in the life of Cheboksary, such as the Race-walking World Cup, a free performance by the Eurovision-2007 contest winner Maria Sherifovich, the Taffy–region 2009 ceremony, and erection of a group of sculptures named Unity in a park located in the north-western district. ABS Electro has taken school number 5 under its patronage, provides sponsorship to the city’s sports clubs and societies, and purchases equipment for educational institutions. ABS Electro pays special attention to providing financial assistance to churches and monasteries.
The company invariably provides support to child care centers, such as the Malyutka orphanage in Cheboksary, an orphanage and boarding school which provide special education in the town of Alatyr, an orphanage in the town of Kozlovka, to the Yadrinsky orphanage, to Kugesinskaya boarding school, which provides special education, and to a Sunday school run by the Tikhvin Bogorodsky Convent in the town of Tsivilsk. The children are not only given toys and books; a variety of educational programs are developed to meet their needs, various events are organized, and the buildings accommodating children’s homes are repaired.
The chief goal is to help children attain personal fulfillment, to let them feel the friendliness of the surrounding world beyond their home, and to show them concern and support given to them.
Each year the holding company’s personnel are provided with polices of supplemental medical insurance according to a convenient and simplified voluntary medical insurance plan. This entitles employees to receive medical treatment in comfortable conditions on easy terms or for free.
Every summer the children of the holding company’s employees spend their summer vacations at summer health camps. The program of the camp includes providing healthy food, entertainment and sports activities.
Under the secondary employment program the enterprise employees have the opportunity to receive free further professional education at the republic’s educational institutions.
The Best Employee of the Month competition held in the company’s subsidiaries enhances the staff’s motivation and encourages them to make impressive achievements in their professional activity.
Active rest, a healthy lifestyle, physical culture and sport are the norm for ABS Electro employees. The holding has sports teams in such sports as football, volleyball, table tennis, swimming and others. These teams show good results not only during competitions held among ABS Electro enterprises, but also during the city, republic and national competitions. The employees of ABS Electro have won prizes at the Republic Festival of Physical Culture and Sport, in women’s competitions called Volzhskaya Zhuravushka, and in the Sport Family city competition. The summer Olympics held by ABS Electro has become a traditional contest which is very popular with the company’s employees.
